Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga in English. Its synopsis follows Kaboku, a boy who follows others’ expectations about his parents, school, and future, finding that predictable life safe but empty.

One night, while staying late at school, he sees Hikari Wanda dancing alone on bare concrete. Wanda belongs to the hip-hop dance club, and watching her makes him want to dance, too.

Kaboku feels immediately drawn to her, but joining means overcoming his shyness. Nearly everyone in the club is a girl, and they all dance far better than he does.

That uncertain path frightens him while offering his first sense of freedom. Kodansha’s description highlights Japanese hip-hop, offbeat and endearing characters, and coming-of-age appeal.

The publisher recommends it to readers of Blue Period and Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso).

Coffee began the manga in Afternoon magazine in 2019 and also publishes it simultaneously through Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app.

Kodansha published the 15th collected volume in December 2025. Upcoming volume releases are:

  • November 10: Kodansha USA Publishing releases volume 14 in English.
  • November 20: Kodansha releases volume 16.

A television anime adaptation premiered in Japan in October 2025. Disney+ streamed it alongside its Japanese broadcast.

Naoya Kusaba directs the film from a script by Keiichi Kobayashi. Dancer and entrepreneur Charisma Kantarō supervises the film’s dancing.
