Charisma anime sets January 7 premiere, adds two cast members
Pierrot Films is producing the television adaptation, directed by Jōji Furuta.
Charisma will premiere on TBS and 27 other affiliate channels on January 7. A separate short anime series arrives on November 4, while Shinnosuke Tachibana and Tomohiro Ōno join the television anime's cast.
The staff released a teaser promotional video on Sunday confirming the television anime's premiere date. Episodes will air on Thursdays at 11:56 p.m. on TBS and its 27 other affiliate channels, starting January 7.
The anime adapts Superhuman Shared Residence Story: Charisma (Chōjin-teki Share House Story Charisma), a project from the Evil Line Records label (Hypnosis Mic) and intellectual property company Dazed. Sunday's announcements also revealed that Shinnosuke Tachibana will voice Sōemon Nakakami and Tomohiro Ōno will voice Shū Torahime.
The separate short anime series will begin on November 4 on TBS, airing on Wednesdays at 11:56 p.m. within the broadcaster's Yoru no Brunch program.
Jōji Furuta, whose credits include Bad Girl, ēlDLIVE, Utano☆Princesama Legend Star and the 2021 Shaman King anime, is directing at Pierrot Films. Original creator Shū Matsubara is supervising and writing the series scripts. Evil Line Records handles the music, while Matsubara and Dazed share credit for the original work. Ebimo is credited with the original character designs, and TBS Television manages production.

Evil Line Records and Dazed launched the project in 2021. It follows 2D characters who embody "charisma" in the word's original sense: elemental traits bestowed by a divinity. They pursue increasingly ambitious goals while living in a share house, a residence with communal facilities such as a kitchen.
The following cast members are confirmed to reprise their roles in the anime:
- Yūki Ono as Fumiya Itō, the charisma of good and evil
- Masahiro Yamanaka as Rikai Kusanagi, the charisma of order
- Katsumi Fukuhara as Iori Motohashi, the charisma of obedience
- Kenta Hosoda as Kei Sarukawa, the charisma of rebellion
- Saku Hyūga as Ohse Minato, the charisma of internal punishment
- Genki Okawa as Terra, the charisma of self-love
- Tomohisa Hashizume as Amahiko Tendō, the charisma of sex
The project has also produced music releases and live concerts. Rin Manda and Iori Irino serialized the four-panel manga Charisma: Kyō mo Heiwa Desu in Kodansha's Dessert magazine from January 2023 through December 2024. It was collected in two volumes.
Sō Tobita's manga Charisma: Charisma na Karera wa Charisma House de Karizumai-chū ran on Kodansha's Comic Days website from February through December 2023 and was also collected in two volumes.
