Kyūri Yamada’s The One-Seventh Survivor (Nanabun no Survivor) launches on Monday. It follows a high school student whose difficult daily life is interrupted by a catastrophic earthquake.

Kodansha’s Comic Days platform announced the new manga on Sunday and will publish its Monday debut. The series will also begin serialization on Kodansha’s YanMaga Web platform on November 16.

The protagonist, Naoya, is a high school student described as “useless” who struggles with ordinary tasks that everyone else can handle. While he confides in a friend about his difficulties in Shibuya, a catastrophic earthquake abruptly disrupts his already challenging everyday life.

Yamada began The Genes of AI (AI no Idenshi) in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in November 2015 and concluded it in August 2017. Akita Shoten published eight volumes. The series is available in English through emaqi, the e-bookstore service run by AI localization company Orange Inc.

The manga also inspired a television anime that premiered in July 2023.

Its first sequel, AI no Idenshi RED QUEEN, ran from 2017 to 2019 and comprised five volumes. The second sequel, AI no Idenshi Blue Age, began in July 2020 and ended in October 2024.
