The OVA subsequently received a simultaneous worldwide streaming release on Netflix and other services in November 2024, timed to Japan’s “Good Couples Day.”
The second season launched in January 2025 on Tokyo MX, BS11, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, TV Aichi, and AT-X. Netflix and other services began streaming it alongside its television premiere.
An anime special aired on TV Tokyo and other stations on October 25 at 7:00 p.m. JST. Streaming followed on Netflix and other services at 8:30 p.m. JST that day. All three episodes premiered on the same date.
Agitogi and Tsukioka launched the light novel series in January 2019. Yen Press licensed the novels. Its story description introduces Miyo, a young woman born into a noble family and raised by an abusive stepmother. She is married off to Kiyoka, a soldier whose heartless reputation drove his previous fiancées away within three days of their engagements. With nowhere to return, Miyo gradually opens her heart to her cold, pale husband-to-be after a difficult first encounter, finding a possible chance at true love and happiness.
Rito Kohsaka’s manga adaptation debuted in December 2018 on Square Enix’s Gangan Online website. Square Enix Manga & Books publishes the manga in English in print and digital editions.
A live-action film based on the novels opened in Japan in March 2023. It topped the box office in its opening weekend, selling 479,700 tickets and earning 654 million yen (about US$4.97 million) during its first three days.
