The official YouTube channel for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 released a music video on Tuesday focusing on Weak Kingsley and Avida. Jack-Amin Ibrahim, a key animator on One Piece Heroines and One Piece Fan Letter, directed the video, which uses the anime’s ending theme, “Watson” by Petite Meller ft Oslo Green.
The staff also released an animated music video for “High Forever” (Marlon Hoffstadt Remix), credited to Marlon Hoffstadt and Petite Miller.
The anime arrived on Netflix on October 20, following a premiere screening of its first episode at Anime Expo on July 3.
According to the staff’s description, the series tells a standalone, 10-episode story of redemption and revenge within the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Its premise asks how far someone must go for their story to matter in a world overwhelmed by spectacle.
The cast includes the following performers, with Japanese actors listed before their English counterparts:
- Momoka Terasawa/Valeria Rodriguez as Roman Carax
- Akari Kitō/Kimoy Lee as Talia Yang
- Kōki Uchiyama/Nazeeh Tarsha as D
- Kentarō Tone/Clancy Brown as Weak Kingsley
Kai Ikarashi made his directorial debut with the new series after contributing storyboards, animation direction, animation, and prop designs to the first anime. Bartosz Sztybor returned after serving as a producer and writer on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Ichigo Kanno, whose work on the original included animation direction and key animation, served as lead character designer. Masahiko Otsuka also returned to write the scripts.
The opening theme is The Cure’s 1978 track “10:15 Saturday Night,” while Petite Meller’s “Watson” serves as the ending theme. Rapper RICO NASTY wrote and performed “YOU CAN’T RUN FROM ME” for the anime; the song was featured in its second teaser trailer.
Studio Trigger’s original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime premiered on Netflix in September 2022. It adapts CD PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 game, which in turn draws on Mike Pondsmith’s Cyberpunk tabletop RPG series.
Aniplex of America issued the original anime as a complete Blu-ray Disc set in North America in October 2025. Anime Limited and Plaion Pictures handled its European home video releases, while Sugoi Co released it on home video in Australia and New Zealand.
The prequel manga Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Madness began on the Comic Alive+ website in December 2024. Asano, the artist behind the BNA: Brand New Animal manga, draws the series, with CD PROJEKT RED’s Bartosz Sztybor writing it. Releases are planned in seven languages besides Japanese, and Dark Horse is publishing the English print edition.
