Tetsu Ōkawa announced Saturday that Sakamoto Holidays, the spinoff of Yuuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days, is approaching its climax.

Tetsu Ōkawa announced Saturday that Sakamoto Holidays, a spinoff of Yuuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days manga, is nearing its climax.

Ōkawa began the series in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 2024. Shueisha released its fourth collected volume on August 4. Viz Media, which publishes the manga in English, released the second volume on August 18.

Suzuki’s original Sakamoto Days manga also announced in July that it was approaching its climax. Its “final battle” began in August 2025. Worldwide circulation reached 18 million copies in August.

The original manga’s anime adaptation has the following release schedule:

  • Season one premiered on TV Tokyo and affiliated channels on January 11, 2025, alongside its Netflix debut.
  • Season one’s second part began airing in July 2025.
  • Season two will premiere in January 2027.

Viz Media describes Sakamoto Holidays as a comedic story about former legendary hit man Taro Sakamoto solving neighborhood crimes. He operates a neighborhood store in the Ikoraizaka shopping arcade, where the streets lined with assorted shops can pose dangers.

Sakamoto sets out to revitalize the area and make it the town’s most peaceful shopping arcade so he can protect his beloved family and enjoy his days off.

After Sakamoto and Shin catch a shoplifter, the thief returns with a gang to ambush them. They must defend themselves without bloodshed, keep Hana from noticing the trouble, and finish the housework perfectly.

Suzuki launched Sakamoto Days in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in November 2020. Shueisha published volume 29 on November 4. Suzuki previously published the one-shot “Sakamoto” in Jump Giga in December 2019.
