Mashle: Magic and Muscles Live-Action Film Opens March 19, 2027

An early teaser visual announced Wednesday that the live-action adaptation of Hajime Kōmoto's Mashle: Magic and Muscles manga will open on March 19, 2027.

Warner Brothers and Fuji TV are overseeing the project. CREDEUS is producing, and TOHO will distribute the film.

The visual's tagline reads, "It's finally time for a movie adaptation, Mashle."

Crunchyroll will stream the third anime season, Mashle: Magic and Muscles - Tri-Magicathalon Divine Visionary Final Exam Arc, in January. The season adapts Kōmoto's manga. The overall anime project is listed as a “complete” adaptation.

The first season premiered in Japan in April 2023 and ran for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed it as it aired and offered an English dub.

The second season premiered in January 2024 and also ran for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll again streamed the series as it aired and offered an English dub.

Viz Media's Shonen Jump service and Shueisha's MANGA Plus service both published the manga digitally in English. Viz Media also releases it in print.

Shueisha describes a world where people use magic for everything. Deep in a forest, a young man who cannot use magic spends his days training and building muscle. He lives peacefully with his father until his life comes under threat.

He must rely on his muscular body against the magic users pursuing him. The unusual magical fantasy pits powerfully trained muscles against magic.

The manga launched in Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in January 2020 and ended in July 2023. Shueisha published its 18th and final collected volume, along with a fan book, in October 2023.

The franchise also includes several novels and two stage play adaptations. Its smartphone puzzle game, Mashle: Muscle Puzzle, launched in April 2025.
