Bandai Namco Filmworks released a teaser and first key visual Friday for Rainy Day Serenade (Namidaame to Serenade), confirming an April 2027 television premiere. Manga creator Haruka Kawachi also drew an illustration to celebrate the adaptation.

Yume Miyamoto voices Hina Katagiri, while Takeo Ōtsuka plays Takaaki Hongō.

Takashi Fujii directs at Tezuka Production. The staff also includes:

• Series scripts: Yōko Yonaiyama (Ya Boy Kongming!, mono, Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk)

The story follows Hina, whose rainy-day dreams show her younger self playing with a mysterious boy in an unfamiliar garden. When she happens upon that garden, she meets Takaaki, who mistakes her for his fiancée, Hinako.

Takaaki takes Hina to what he believes is her home, where her double awaits. Hina discovers she has left modern Tokyo for Japan in 1907, raising questions about whether she is dreaming or experiencing something stranger.

Kodansha USA Publishing licensed the manga and will begin releasing two-in-one omnibus editions in fall 2026.

Kawachi began the series in Kodansha’s Kiss magazine in 2014 and concluded it in November 2025. Kodansha shipped its 14th and final collected volume on February 13.

A spinoff, Namidaame to Serenade: Gaiden (Rainy Day Serenade Side Story), launches in Kiss on November 25.

Kawachi’s Natsuyuki Rendezvous received an anime adaptation on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block in 2012, the year the manga ended. JManga published her Sekine’s Love manga in English.

Her Request o Yoroshiku (Welcome Your Request) ran in Feel Young from September 2014 to 2019. Shodensha published its fifth and final volume in 2020.
