Amahara's Fantasy Sex Comedy About a 33-Year-Old Knight Captain Gets an Anime

Digital Shokunin announced Friday that it is producing an anime adaptation of Amahara's 33 Years Old Single Girl Knight Captain (33-sai Dokushin Onna Kishi Taichō).

The project's YouTube channel is streaming a music video for “Boogieing Dance Kishi” (“Boogieing Dance Knights”). The video may not be safe for work.

The song's credits include:

• Vocals: Sekka
• Composition and arrangement: Suzumi
• Lyrics: Sekka and Suzumi

The fantasy sex comedy follows Mail, a 33-year-old woman and knight captain, and her friends. Exploitative working conditions leave them too busy to satisfy their sexual desires. They spend their free time drinking and pleasuring themselves.

Amahara launched the manga in KATTS's online adult manga magazine Ananga Ranga in October 2015. It remains ongoing on an irregular schedule, with new chapters often running just one or two pages. Flex Comics published the fourth compiled volume on January 15.

Amahara's other manga include Interspecies Reviewers (Ishuzoku Reviewers), with artist masha, and The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace (Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi).

Interspecies Reviewers publication and anime history:

• A special one-shot appeared in Kadokawa's Monthly Dragon Age in July 2016. The series launched in Dra Dra Sharp# on Nico Nico Seiga in August 2016.
• Kadokawa published volume 12 on October 9. Yen Press licensed the manga and released volume 11 on April 28.
• The TV anime premiered in January 2020. Funimation removed it later that month because it fell outside the company's standards, choosing removal over alterations.
• Amazon Prime Video removed the English dub and English-subtitled version in the first week of February 2020.
• Right Stuf licensed the anime and released it uncensored on Blu-ray in December 2021.

The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace remake and anime:

• Amahara's original web manga ran on Neetsha and halted in May 2016.
• Coolkyoushinja's remake launched in Hakusensha's Young Animal in August 2018. It caught up with the original in early 2023 and ended in August 2024.
• Hakusensha published the ninth and final volume in October 2024. English publisher Seven Seas released volume nine in November 2025.
• The anime premiered on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block in July 2021. Crunchyroll streamed it as it aired in Japan.
