He Does a Body Good Anime Set for January 2027, With English Streaming on OceanVeil
Lee Wonsik and Park Hyeongjun's webtoon joins the AnimeFesta lineup, with animation by Studio Hōkiboshi.
He Does a Body Good will premiere in January 2027. WWWave Corporation's OceanVeil service will stream the anime in English.
Suiseisha announced Friday that He Does a Body Good (Karada ni Ii Otoko) is getting an AnimeFesta adaptation. The anime's official website confirms English streaming on OceanVeil.
The cast features the Japanese character names used on the official website:
- Atsushi Hizashi as Hiroki Nagai
- Ion Momoyama as Yumi Aihara
- Towa Miyako as Risa Ogawa
- Milk Amai as Ayano Yamaguchi
Nishiyan directs at Studio Hōkiboshi, with Eeyo Kurosaki handling the series scripts. Reina Nasu serves as character designer and chief animation director.
Akahori handles color design, while Chan Do Kim Fan oversees art direction and art setting. Shurakura Hōōin is the compositing director of photography, and Kanedo edits the anime. Yūichi Imaizumi directs sound, with sonilude handling sound production.
The story follows a man whose unhappy daily life includes rejection from a woman on his commuter train. A former classmate also tricks him into a shady business scheme.
After an accident, he develops an unusual ability: anyone who touches him feels intense pleasure.
Lee Wonsik and Park Hyeongjun serialized the webtoon on Lezhin Comics from November 2014 to March 2017. It is available in Korean, English and Japanese.
Frontier Works publishes the Japanese print edition, which credits the original work to "WS" and the art to "YUKIO." The anime's website uses those same credits. The Japanese edition also replaces the characters' Korean names with Japanese ones.
WWWave Corporation owns both the ComicFesta web manga service and the AnimeFesta programming block, formerly called Anime Zone and ComicFesta Anime. Over eight years, AnimeFesta has produced short adaptations of more than 30 ComicFesta manga, many featuring adult or risqué material.
Its first anime was On a Lustful Night Mingling with a Priest (Sōryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni...). That Japanese title inspired the fan nickname "Sōryo-waku," or "Sōryo-type," for AnimeFesta anime.
Most AnimeFesta series have a censored "broadcast" version for television and an uncensored "premium" version distributed online. WWWave releases many titles in English through Coolmic and recently began releasing anime on OceanVeil.
