Uta no Princess-sama Cancels Third Anniversary Concert
The project announced the event in December but had not confirmed a date or venue.
Uta no Princess-sama has canceled its third anniversary concert, citing “various circumstances.” The female idol project launched in March 2023.
Uta no Princess-sama’s official website announced last Saturday that the project’s third anniversary concert has been canceled, citing unspecified circumstances.
The concert was announced in December. The project had not revealed a date or venue before canceling it.
Launched in March 2023, Uta no Princess-sama is the female idol counterpart to the male idol franchise Uta no Prince-sama. It currently features two three-member groups, Flower Candy and Silent Queen.
The project centers on time-traveling idols. Its characters attend the all-girls St. Saotome Girls’ Academy, form an idol group, and suddenly find themselves transported through time.
The original franchise’s anime began by adapting Broccoli’s Uta no Prince-sama dating simulation game for female players. Its television seasons include:
- Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 1000%, the first season, which premiered in Japan in July 2011.
- Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 2000%, the 13-episode second season, which premiered in Japan in April 2013.
- Utano☆Princesama Revolutions, the 13-episode third season, which premiered in April 2015.
- Utano☆Princesama Legend Star, the 13-episode fourth season, which premiered in October 2016.
The first season’s slapstick romantic comedy follows a female protagonist attending a performing arts school alongside young men aspiring to become idols. Later seasons follow seven of those young men after they establish the idol group ST☆RISH.
The franchise’s theatrical releases include:
- Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love Kingdom, which opened in Japan in June 2019.
- Utano☆Princesama Maji LOVE ST☆RISH Tours, which opened in Japan in September 2022 and placed seventh during its opening weekend.
- Gekijōban Utano☆Princesama♪ TABOO NIGHT XXXX, an anime film that opened in Japan in May 2025.
A one-hour television anime special, Utano☆Princesama♪ Maji Love ST☆RISH Tours: Tabi no Hajimari (The Start of a Journey), aired in Japan in July 2022.
The special celebrated both the 10th anniversary of the 2011 television anime Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 1000% and the release of the ST☆RISH Tours film.
