Alice Hirose to Play Mokuren in Live-Action Please Save My Earth Adaptation

Saki Hiwatari’s Please Save My Earth (Boku no Chikyū wo Mamotte, or Boku Tama) manga is getting a live-action adaptation. It will stream exclusively worldwide on Amazon Prime Video in fall 2027, with Alice Hirose playing Mokuren.

Amazon MGM Studios is presenting the project. THE SEVEN collective is handling planning and production alongside Kadokawa Daiei Studio.

The announced cast and creative team include:

• Alice Hirose (Bubble, live-action Silver Spoon, Hyouka) as Mokuren.
• Director Takahiro Miki (live-action Blue Spring Ride, Hodonaku, Owakare Desu, Solanin, We Were There).
• Scriptwriter Nana Yamamoto (Vivant, Antihero, Cinderella Complex).
• Composer Moshimoss (Kosuke Anamizu).

Viz Media published the original manga in North America and also released its original video anime adaptation.

Viz’s synopsis follows shy Alice as she leaves her quiet hometown for a busy city and a new high school. She also faces regular harassment from Rin, her bratty young neighbor.

When Alice has to babysit Rin, the unwelcome task ends in an unexpected tragedy. Unbeknownst to her, a larger force may be involved beyond simple bad luck.

Hiwatari serialized the original manga in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine from 1986 to 1994. Production I.G animated the 1993–94 original video anime series, which led to a feature-length compilation in 1995 and a music image video in 2001.

Her sequel, Embraced by the Moonlight (Boku o Tsutsumu Tsuki no Hikari), takes place years later and follows the son of two original-series characters. It ran in Bessatsu Hana to Yume and Hana to Yume Plus from 2003 to 2014.

Hiwatari has serialized another sequel, Boku wa Chikyū to Utau, in Bessatsu Hana to Yume and Melody since 2015.
