The anime’s official website announced Friday that the television adaptation of Yui Hata’s manga will premiere in 2027. It also unveiled the main cast, staff and a teaser visual.
Hata’s manga adapts Nikita Kitagawa’s novel series I, The Weakest Player, Will Rise to the Top Using a "Wall-Clipping Glitch" – By Clipping Through Walls, I Earned the First-Time Clear Reward Infinite Times! (Saijakuna Boku wa "Kabenuke Bug" de Nariagaru: Kabe o Surinuketara, Shokai Clear Hōshū o Mugen Kaishū Dekimashita!).
Riko Aono will voice Anri, while Momoka Terasawa will play Elelet. The romanizations of both character names remain unconfirmed.
The main staff includes:
- Director: Haruki Kasugamori (Dragon Goes House-Hunting, Tono to Inu), working at Durandal and Tengu Kobou.
- Series scripts supervisor: Hiroshi Hosokawa (Otherworldly Munchkin).
- Character designer: Hiroshi Miyamoto (Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary, Eiga Precure Dream Stars!).
- Character designer: Sumakidori (Miru: Paths To My Future).
The story centers on Anri, a weak young adventurer earning money for his younger sister. His party expels him because of his weak “Evasion” skill.
Anri then discovers a glitch that lets him use “Evasion” to pass through walls and repeatedly collect first-time clear rewards without limit. He climbs from the bottom by raising his stats and gathering rare items.
Kitagawa began publishing the web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in February 2021. The light novel edition launched in June 2022, featuring illustrations by Meto Sasame. Its second volume shipped in May 2024.
Hata launched the manga in Kodansha’s Shōnen Magazine R in July 2022. After the magazine ceased publication in January 2023, the adaptation moved that same month to Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app. Kodansha released the manga’s 12th volume on July 9.
