Terranigma Set for 2027 Return on Consoles and PC
Clear River Games will publish Quintet’s 1995 RPG on six console platforms and through Steam and GOG.

Clear River Games announced a 2027 rerelease of Terranigma for Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The RPG originally launched in Japan in 1995.
Clear River Games announced Monday that it will release Quintet’s 1995 RPG Terranigma in 2027. The game will come to the following platforms:
- Switch
- Switch 2
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- PC via Steam and GOG
The publisher describes the action JRPG as a beloved classic returning for the first time since 1995, having previously lacked a modern rerelease. Its description praises the game’s bold themes, striking character designs, excellent music, and smooth gameplay.
Terranigma takes place on a hollow Earth with an outer Lightside and an inner Darkside. Ark, a mischievous resident of the Darkside village of Crysta, knows nothing of the world beyond his home.
When Ark opens a forbidden door, he triggers events that will change the world. Clear River Games says the emotional story and transformative journey have captivated players for decades, inviting newcomers and returning players to experience its magic.
Quintet originally released Terranigma for Japan’s Super Famicom in 1995. Nintendo published the English version on SNES in Europe and Australia. A United States release was planned, but Enix’s American branch closed before it could happen.
