Monster Hunter Outlanders Trailer Introduces Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal

CAPCOM introduced a new Elder Dragon named Ruger Aidal in a Monster Hunter Outlanders trailer during this year's gamescom Opening Night Live event.

The new entry in CAPCOM's Monster Hunter action game franchise is due soon in 2026 on iOS and Android. Pre-registration is now open.

Monster Hunter Outlanders combines open-world survival gameplay with elements from the Monster Hunter action series. It also supports multiplayer and lets players switch between characters.

Other Monster Hunter releases include:

• Monster Hunter Now: CAPCOM and Niantic released this augmented reality (AR) smartphone game on iOS and Android in September 2023.
• Monster Hunter Wilds: Launched worldwide in February 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.
• Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection: Arrived March 13 on Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.

Monster Hunter Wilds sold more than 8 million copies worldwide within three days. CAPCOM said no other title from the company had reached that milestone faster. Worldwide sales reached 10 million copies as of March 2025.

Its Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance expansion is scheduled for 2027. A Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is also in development.

Chinese developer TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of China's Tencent conglomerate, is developing Monster Hunter Outlanders. Returning franchise composer Tadayoshi Makino is responsible for the music.

TiMi announced in November 2022 that it was developing a Monster Hunter mobile game. The studio is best known for Call of Duty Mobile and Pokémon Unite, which reached smartphones in September 2021.
