Waka Sanada’s manga adaptation of Teika’s light novels ended Wednesday in Monthly Shōnen Ace’s October issue. Its fourth and final volume ships November 25.
Kadokawa’s Monthly Shōnen Ace published the final chapter of Waka Sanada’s The Delinquent Girl Beside Me Suddenly Dyed Her Hair Black manga on Wednesday. The chapter appeared in the magazine’s October issue.
The fourth and final collected volume will ship on November 25. One Peace Books publishes the series in English.
The manga adapts Teika’s light novel series. One Peace Books describes a high school romantic comedy about a boy whose casual conversation with friends about romance catches an unexpected listener’s attention.
He says his ideal girlfriend would have long black hair and carry herself well. The next day, Shimizu, the blonde delinquent sitting beside him, arrives with her hair dyed black.
Whenever he mentions another preference, she begins doing things she normally avoids. She attends cooking class after previously always skipping it and brings him homemade lunches, among other changes.
The heartwarming slice-of-life story follows the awkward romantic efforts of the school’s toughest, most intimidating delinquent girl as she tries to match his ideal.
Sanada began the adaptation in Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace in August 2024. Kadokawa released the third collected volume on February 25.
Teika published the original web novel on Kakuyomu. Kadokawa released the fourth novel in March 2025, and Hamu receives credit for the character designs.
