Wings magazine's October issue will carry the final chapter of Shuu Katayama's Absurd Variety Shop Unreal on Friday. The manga launched in June 2022.

Shinshokan's Wings magazine announced Monday on its official X/Twitter account that Shuu Katayama's Absurd Variety Shop Unreal (Fujōri Zakkaten Unreal) manga will conclude Friday. The final chapter will appear in this year's October issue.

The fifth collected volume is scheduled to ship in late November.

The story follows an unusual variety shop that sells people's “thoughts.” Its strange products dramatically change the lives of customers who visit.

The owner, Yagio, watches events in the shop with a cold, detached gaze. Muneya Hamaie, a high school boy employed at a nearby cafe, takes an interest in Yagio's well-being.

Yodaka and Katayama began the manga in Shinshokan's Wings in June 2022. Shinshokan released its fourth collected volume in September 2025.

A live-action television adaptation aired in 2025 on these channels:

  • TV Osaka
  • TV Aichi
  • BS TV Tokyo

A stage adaptation premiered in January.

Katayama's Gakuen Benriya manga became the basis for the 1988 Antique Heart OVA. Her Dragon Heart manga also received an OVA adaptation in 1991.
