Muse India will begin releasing Chained Soldier’s second anime season on YouTube on August 28, with daily uploads. A third season is also planned.

Muse India announced Wednesday on Instagram that Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave) season two will stream on its YouTube channel starting August 28. The channel will upload episodes daily.

The television anime adapts writer Takahiro and artist Yōhei Takemura’s manga. Its Japanese title literally means “Slave of the Magic Capital’s Elite Troops.”

Season two premiered January 8 on Tokyo MX, BS Asahi, MBS, and AT-X. Amazon Prime Video’s Anime Times streamed it in India alongside its Japanese broadcast.

In Japan, the “TV version” began streaming on ABEMA on January 8. The “reward version” followed on AnimeFesta, d Anime Store, and DMM TV on January 13.

The anime will also receive a third season.

Season two brought in a new staff and animation studios:

  • Masafumi Tamura (The World’s Finest Assassin, Ange Vierge, Wise Man’s Grandchild) directed at Passione and Hayabusa Film.
  • Passione was initially announced as the season’s only animation studio.
  • Nakano (AOKANA: Four Rhythm Across the Blue, Loner Life in Another World, Keijo!!!!!!!!) designed the characters.

Muse India’s synopsis introduces high school student Yuuki Wakura, who wants to find somewhere he belongs. Kyouka Uzen, commander of the Demon Defense Force’s 7th Squad, uses her ability to awaken his “Slave” power.

With Yuuki’s help, Kyouka defeats Unihorn, her homeland’s enemy, fulfilling her longstanding vow of revenge. Meanwhile, a new threat—the Eight Thunder Gods—begins stirring in Mato.

Yuuki and Kyouka travel to the Commanders’ Assembly, where the strongest forces, the squad commanders, gather. Joint training strengthens the Demon Defense Force, while Yuuki grows considerably and reveals signs of new potential.

One of the Eight Thunder Gods then appears in the real world. The synopsis frames these developments as the second season of the battle fantasy about an “enslaved boy.”

The first season debuted in Japan in January 2024 on AT-X, Tokyo MX, BS Asahi, and MBS. Muse Asia streamed it in India during its Japanese run, and JioHotstar also carries the season in India.

The first season’s staff included:

  • General director Junji Nishimura (Ranma ½, TV 1/1989).
  • Director Gorō Kuji (Bungo and Alchemist -Gears of Judgement-), working at Seven Arcs.
  • Series composition writer Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War).
  • Scriptwriters Ryōta Kanō and Akira Kindaichi (Bakugan Battle Planet).
  • Character designer Hiroyuki Yoshii (Tawawa on Monday).
  • Composer Kohta Yamamoto (Attack on Titan The Final Season).
  • Sound director Chikako Yokota (The Seven Deadly Sins: Imperial Wrath of The Gods).

The battle fantasy takes place in a world where a demonic gate has released monsters called Shūki. A special peach tree grants powers exclusively to women.

The story opens when an unlucky boy, Yūki Wakura, meets Uzen Kyōka, a girl with peach-granted powers who captains the 7th Anti-Demon Squad.

Takahiro (Akame ga KILL!) and Takemura (the Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai! manga) launched the manga on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website in January 2019. Yen Press publishes it in English.
