Arc System Works announced Thursday that its upcoming game Donutal will launch on PC through Steam on September 3. The Japanese release falls on September 4.
The company also released a new trailer introducing the game's characters.
Anyone who buys the game between September 3 and November 30 will receive free access to its 13-track soundtrack when it becomes available.
Set in 2206, Donutal puts players in the role of Chief Extraterrestrial Counselor, screening aliens seeking entry to Earth. Players must admit those who could help Earth's future while trying to reject those who could bring about its end.
Its immigration simulation gameplay resembles Papers, Please.
The game's Steam page previously carried a disclaimer stating that illustrations accompanying some articles on its in-game news site used AI-generated images retouched afterward. That disclaimer no longer appears on the page.
