Rock Paper Landmine Live-Action Series Sets November 13 Global Prime Video Debut
Nana Mori and Aju Makita lead the adaptation of Yugo Aosaki’s novel, which won three literary awards in 2024.

Amazon Prime Video will launch Rock Paper Landmine worldwide on November 13. The live-action adaptation follows a gifted high school gamer who enters underground school competitions to save her best friend.
Amazon Prime Video announced Monday that a live-action adaptation of Yugo Aosaki’s Glico with Landmines (Jirai Glico) novel will begin streaming worldwide on November 13. The series will use the title Rock Paper Landmine.
Nana Mori will play Mato Imoriya, while Aju Makita will portray Kazahi Koda.
The production team includes:
- Director: Kazuaki Seki
- Scriptwriters: Tatsuhiro Mishima, Shiori Ueno, and Daiki Kobayashi
- Music composer: Yuma Yamaguchi
- Production company: The Seven
- Producer: Akira Morii
In The Seven’s synopsis, familiar games such as Rock-Paper-Scissors and Memory become intense contests of strategy and psychology through a few additional rules.
Mato appears to be a carefree high school girl, but she has an extraordinary ability to win any game. She enters underground school gaming battles to save her best friend, Kazahi.
The players wager their everyday lives and youth rather than their lives. Stakes range from the best school festival booth locations to student competitions involving chips worth 90 million yen.
The contests demand advanced reasoning, where one wrong move can prove fatal. Players also use tactics beyond the game itself to outsmart rivals and calmly reverse seemingly hopeless situations.
The Seven presents the story as a bloodless survival contest among high school girls who could lose their entire youth. Its high-stakes battle of wits combines unpredictable tension with the satisfaction of completely outmaneuvering an opponent.
Kadokawa released the original novel in November 2023. It received three awards in 2024:
- The novel division award at the 24th Honkaku Mystery Taisho, or Orthodox Mystery Award.
- The full-length novel or collected short stories division award at the 77th Nihon Suiri Sakka Kyōkai Shō, or Mystery Writers of Japan Awards.
- The 37th Yamamoto Shūgorō Prize.
Akira Akatsuki, the artist behind Medaka Box, began a manga adaptation in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine in October 2024. The manga remains ongoing, and Hakusensha released its fourth volume on May 29.
Aosaki’s Undead Girl Murder Farce novels began in 2015. Kodansha published the third volume in April 2021, and Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga adaptation.
The novels also inspired a television anime that premiered in July 2023. Crunchyroll streamed it as Undead Murder Farce worldwide outside Asia as it aired in Japan.
