A new PuniRunes season-four promo has been released. Comedy duo Ganbareruya will voice Sanrun and Tsukurun and serve as cheer captains for the new seasons.

Takara Tomy’s official PuniRunes toyline YouTube channel released a promotional video Saturday for the anime’s fourth season, PuniRunes Puni 4.

Staff also announced that female comedy duo Ganbareruya will voice new characters Sanrun and Tsukurun. The duo will also act as “cheer captains” for the new seasons.

The fourth season premieres October 4 at 9:15 a.m. on TV Tokyo and its affiliates. Its story takes place in “Puni School.”

The anime’s broadcast history includes:

  • Season one aired on TV Tokyo and TV Osaka from October 2022 through March 2023.
  • Season two premiered in October 2024.
  • Season three premiered in July 2025.

Spin Master started streaming the anime on YouTube in September 2024. The company is also releasing the toys in the United States.

Unlike other digital pets users can raise, PuniRunes toys feature a hole where users insert a finger to “pet” the soft creature inside.

The anime follows the everyday lives of PuniRunes, mysterious creatures that love being coddled, and Yuka, a fourth-grade girl who loves soft, squishy things. “Puni-puni” is a Japanese onomatopoeic expression for softness and squishiness.

The first season’s staff and theme-song performer included:

  • Chief director Kunihiko Yuyama, whose credits include Fairy Princess Minky Momo and Pokémon.
  • Director Kentaro Yamaguchi, who directed at OLM Digital.
  • Series script supervisor Gigaemon Ichikawa, whose credits include Chikasugi Idol Akae-chan, The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made, and A Galaxy Next Door.
  • Character designer Sayuri Ichiishi, whose credits include Pokémon and Tamagotchi!
  • Nanahira, who sang the theme song “Puni Puni PuniRunes Punix Version.”
