Arcanadea Anime Sets January 2027 Premiere, Announces Staff and Cast
Yokohama Animation Lab is producing the adaptation, which will air in Japan on TV Asahi's NUMAnimation block and BS Asahi.
The Arcanadea television anime revealed a teaser, its main staff and additional cast on Saturday. The adaptation of Kotobukiya's plastic model series will premiere in January 2027.
The team behind the television anime adaptation of Kotobukiya's Arcanadea bishōjo plastic model series released a teaser promotional video on Saturday. The announcement also unveiled the main staff, additional cast and a January 2027 premiere.
The anime will run in the NUMAnimation programming block on TV Asahi and a total of 24 stations across Japan. BS Asahi will also carry the series.
The main production credits are:
- Original work: Kotobukiya.
- Director: Keiichirō Kawaguchi (Sket Dance, Spy Classroom, Psychic Squad), at Yokohama Animation Lab.
- Series script supervision: Atsuhiro Tomioka (Pokémon XY, Trinity Blood, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest).
- Animation character designs: Kumoha Arakawa, adapting necömi's original designs. Arakawa's name romanization remains unconfirmed.
- Music: Yūki Hayashi (My Hero Academia, Haikyu!!) and Yūki Furuhashi (My Hero Academia: Vigilantes).
The announced cast includes:
- Kaede Hondo as Lumitea.
- Miho Okasaki as Velretta.
- Rina Hidaka as Yukumo.
Hondo returns as Lumitea after voicing her in short videos adapting the franchise's four-panel manga, YuruCanadea, also called YuruCana.
The franchise blends science fiction and fantasy in a near-future world transformed by rapid technological progress. That progress follows Eden Industries' discovery of a new energy called “Arcana Particles.”
Its advances include Eden, the largest virtual space server. People can enter its fantasy-world VRMMO, “ARCANADEA.”
One night, an explosion at Eden Industries during maintenance on Eden changes the world. The aftermath brings abnormal weather, communication problems, mysterious disappearances and enhanced physical abilities in some people.
Beyond plastic models, Arcanadea has spawned assorted merchandise and an ASMR CD series. Its official website also runs a four-panel manga.
The franchise began in December 2021. By June 2025, it had shipped more than 500,000 figures.
