The fighting game follows the manga's final battle. It brings every Class 1-A student to consoles with their final powers and techniques for the first time.
Its modes include:
- Team Up Missions, set on a new map
- Archives Battle, which lets players revisit fights from the series
- Story Mode, covering the final arc through both heroes' and villains' perspectives
- The Hero's Diary, focusing on various characters
Bandai Namco describes combat as 3v3 matches in which players must defeat every opposing team member to win. Its tag system lets players swap fighters to lengthen combos, respond to enemy tactics or shift from defense to offense with timely switches.
Combat uses four main actions:
- Target Combo
- Counter Attack
- Guard
- Unblockable Attack
Evade and Counter Crash offer additional tactical ways to escape danger. Building the Plus Ultra gauge gives players an opportunity to trigger a Plus Ultra Combo, a powerful finishing attack combining all three fighters' Quirk abilities for heavy damage.
The Rising! state boosts attack strength, movement speed and recovery. Players can activate it when the gauge fills to gain an advantage. Rising! activates automatically when only one character remains, potentially reversing the battle's course.
Kōhei Horikoshi concluded the original My Hero Academia manga's magazine serialization in August 2024. He later added 38 pages of material to its 42nd and final collected volume, released in December 2024.
The anime adaptation's final season premiered in October 2025. Its bonus episode, “More,” aired May 2, adapting the extra 431st manga chapter set after the original ending.
