The Vermillion Mask Sets October 10 Debut, Unveils Theme Songs and Six More Cast Members
Crunchyroll will stream the two-cour anime and screen it early in U.S. theaters on September 21.
The Vermillion Mask’s second main trailer reveals songs by MAN WITH A MISSION and yutori, six additional cast members, and an October 10 premiere.
The staff behind The Vermillion Mask (Shuiro no Kamen) released its second main trailer on Thursday. It announced an October 10 premiere, the theme song artists, and six additional cast members.
The anime adapts Dr.Poro and Nabana Naba’s manga and will run for two parts, or cours, each referring to a quarter-year period. Crunchyroll will stream it as it airs and hold early screenings in U.S. theaters on September 21.
The trailer previews the opening song, “Firestarter” by MAN WITH A MISSION, and the ending song, “Koe” by yutori.

- Akihisa Wakayama as Rinne

Yomiuri TV’s synopsis follows Peru, a young apprentice mask maker who kills his master and comrades after a cursed mask drives him out of control. Consumed by guilt, he begins a journey to destroy the legendary masks his master created.
Along the way, Peru encounters unexpected allies and lethal enemies. His struggle for redemption puts both his soul and the world’s fate at stake.
Dr.Poro and Naba began the manga in Shōnengahōsha’s Young King Ours magazine in February 2021. Shōnengahōsha released its ninth collected volume on July 6. Orange’s emaqi e-bookstore platform publishes the manga in English.
