Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 Sets October 7 Premiere, Unveils Trailer and Theme
Crunchyroll will stream the SILVER LINK. production, with MADKID performing the opening song “Unbroken.”
Kadokawa released a main trailer and visual for Sasaki and Peeps season 2, announced two new cast members, and set its premiere for October 7.
Kadokawa announced Friday that Sasaki and Peeps (Sasaki and Pichan) season 2 will premiere October 7. It also released the television anime’s main trailer and visual and announced two new cast members.
The trailer introduces and previews MADKID’s opening theme, “Unbroken.” The anime adapts the novels by writer Buncololi and illustrator Kantoku.
The season starts October 7 at 11:00 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX and BS NTV. AT-X will also air it, and Crunchyroll will stream it.
Yūshi Ibe, an episode director and assistant director on season 1, takes over as director at SILVER LINK. Yamato Ouchi, another first-season episode director, becomes assistant director.
Other staff moving into new roles include:
- Kazunori Ozawa: The first season’s animation director now handles action supervision.
- Yūko Shintani: The 2DCG designer becomes compositing director of photography.
- Tsutomu Ogasawara: The 3D animator becomes the new season’s 3D director.
Returning staff include:

- Character design: Saori Nakashiki
- Chief animation directors: Saori Nakashiki and Yuki Sawairi
- Art director: Yūki Araki
- Color design: Shiho Mizumoto

Previously announced additions include music producers Kōji Fujimoto, whose credits include Tearmoon Empire and Mission: Yozakura Family, and Osamu Sasaki, whose credits include Ragna Crimson and Mission: Yozakura Family.

Season 1 opened on AT-X in January 2024 with a one-hour special and concluded with episode 12.
Crunchyroll streamed it across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS. The service also streams an English dub.
Yen Press publishes the novels in English. Its synopsis follows Sasaki, whose dull, work-filled corporate routine leaves him exhausted and unfulfilled each day.
Seeking companionship to ease his loneliness, he impulsively visits a pet shop and brings home an adorable bird, unaware that his life will change forever.
The bird reveals itself as a powerful sage from another world and grants Sasaki supernatural abilities, including travel between worlds. Sasaki hopes to use them for a peaceful, comfortable life, but an assortment of colorful characters may interfere.
Kadokawa began publishing the ongoing novels, illustrated by Kantoku, in January 2021. Volume 13 shipped March 25.
The series won both the Tankōbon and Novel categories in the 2022 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!) guidebook.
Pureji Osho began the manga adaptation on Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace Plus platform in 2021. Kadokawa released its sixth compiled volume June 26.
