The staff released a special video with new footage from Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie Part 2 on Friday, its Japanese opening day. The first film opened on April 24.

The staff released a special video featuring new footage from Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie Part 2 (Saishū Gakushō Hibike! Euphonium Kōhen) on Friday. The film opened in Japan that same day.

Director Taichi Ogawa also shared an illustration celebrating the premiere. The film concludes the Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie project, whose first installment opened on April 24.

Kyoto Animation describes the project as the franchise’s long-awaited conclusion, bringing the story back to theaters in 2026 after Sound! Euphonium 3’s emotional 2024 ending. The series has spent ten years following high school students who dedicate their youth to concert band.

The studio’s description presents the finale as a journey becoming the students’ next song, with a promise from that day still remaining. It frames this final movement as the curtain closing on the beloved anime.

Kyoto Animation refined the animation throughout the film. Jukki Hanada wrote a new screenplay containing numerous new scenes, including performances absent from the television series.

The studio describes those additions as creating a theatrical experience suited to the series’ final chapter. It says the full staff worked together to deliver a definitive conclusion.
