The manga's “zombie x youth comedy” unfolds after a deadly, virulent disease infects and kills 90 percent of Earth's humans. They subsequently return as zombies that attack people.

Thirteen years after that “Red Day” brought society and civilization down, survivors live outside major cities while hoping to reclaim them. A new generation, unfamiliar with the world before Red Day, is coming of age.

Aki and her close friends Haru and Natsuki set out to search for her missing father.

Katsuwo began the manga in Kadokawa's Comic Dengeki DaiohG magazine in June 2022. Kadokawa released its third and final volume in January 2024.

In July, Yen Press announced plans to publish the entire manga in one omnibus under the title #ImLookingForZombies.

Katsuwo's Mitsuboshi Colors also received a television anime, which debuted in January 2018. Sentai Filmworks streamed it during its Japanese broadcast.

Katsuwo's Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu (“Solitary ‘’ Life,” or “Hitori Bocchi's ‘’ Life”) began in Comic Dengeki DaiohG's inaugural issue in September 2013. It concluded in April 2021, and Kadokawa released the eighth and final volume that June.

Its television anime adaptation premiered in April 2019 and streamed on Crunchyroll.
