Nintendo held a Nintendo Switch event at R City Mall in Mumbai, India, on September 5-6. Visitors could watch and try game demos.

The lineup included:

  • Nintendo Switch Sports
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • Super Mario Bros. Wonder
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Nintendo's latest console, the Switch 2, was absent.

A volunteer told IGN India that describing the event as Nintendo officially entering the Indian market would be a stretch. The volunteer said the company was testing the waters.

Bushiroad made a similar move with its Bushiroad Expo 2025 exhibition at Jio World Center during Mumbai Comic-Con in April 2025.

Company representatives told ANN that Indian fans could only expect the exhibition for the time being. Bushiroad wanted to establish a presence in India and was assessing interest among audiences, licensors, and retailers.

Nintendo also recently sued a real estate company based in Patna over its use of the name “Nintendo.” The Hindu reported on August 9 that the Delhi High Court had barred the company from using the name, finding it infringed Nintendo Co. Ltd.'s trademark rights.
