Reborn as a Space Mercenary released its main promotional video, previewing FLOW's opening song “Unstoppable,” alongside two cast announcements and a key visual.

The official website for Reborn as a Space Mercenary released its main promotional video, announced two additional cast members and unveiled a key visual on Tuesday. The promo previews “Unstoppable,” the opening theme by rock band FLOW.

The anime premieres October 4 at 9:30 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX. Crunchyroll will stream the series.

The television anime adapts Ryūto and illustrator Tetsuhiro Nabeshima's light novels, Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship! (Mezametara Saikyō Sōbi to Uchūsen Mochi Datta no de, Ikkodate Mezashite Yōhei Toshite Jiyū ni Ikitai).

The cast includes:

  • Makoto Furukawa as Hiro
  • Konomi Inagaki as Mimi, Hiro's love interest
  • Anna Nagase as Elma, Hiro's steadfast partner
  • Haruka Shiraishi as Serena, a noble's daughter and military officer

The production staff includes:

  • Director: Norihiko Nagahama (I've Somehow Gotten Stronger When I Improved My Farm-Related Skills, The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human), at Studio A-Cat
  • Series scripts: Takamitsu Kōno (Absolute Duo, Highspeed Étoile, The Beginning After The End)
  • Character design: Masami Sueoka (The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human, The Beginning After The End)
  • Sound director: Jin Aketagawa
  • Music: Kenta Higashiohji

Metal band ASTERISM will perform “My Way,” the ending theme.

Seven Seas Entertainment licenses both the novels and their manga adaptation. Its synopsis follows Satou Takahiro, whose ordinary life gives way to the world of his favorite video game, filled with space battles, interstellar colonies and danger across outer space.

Taking the name Hiro, he becomes a mercenary with a heavily equipped spaceship and a beautiful woman on either arm. He faces space pirates, rescues girls and finds trouble he hopes to escape, determined to enjoy his new life fully.

Ryūto started the original story on Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let's Become Novelists) in February 2019, and serialization continues. Kadokawa released the first print volume in July 2019 with Nabeshima's illustrations.

Kadokawa published novel volume 17 on May 9. Seven Seas released volume 15 on May 26.

Shinichi Matsui launched the manga adaptation on ComicWalker, now KadoComi, in November 2019. Kadokawa released its 11th compiled volume on March 23, and Seven Seas published volume 10 on March 31.
