Can You Kiss Me First? Live-Action Series Sets October 19 Premiere
Jin Suzuki and Gaku Oshida lead the boys’ love adaptation, which will also stream on Fuji TV On Demand.
A new teaser confirms that the live-action adaptation of Yamayade’s Can You Kiss Me First? will debut on Fuji TV on October 19.
The official website for the live-action adaptation of Yamayade’s boys’ love manga Can You Kiss Me First? (Omae no Hou kara Kiss Shitekure yo) released a teaser on Thursday. It announced an October 19 television premiere on Fuji TV.
The series will also stream on Fuji TV On Demand.
Jin Suzuki, whose credits include the live-action Kimi ni Todoke and Teasing Master Takagi-san, plays Ueno. Gaku Oshida, known for the live-action Grapara! and Samurai Sensei, plays Kanda.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga and will begin publishing it on September 29.
The publisher’s synopsis follows two office workers who appear to have little in common. Ueno is a rigid, strict accountant who intimidates his colleagues. Kanda is the sales department’s standout employee, whose outgoing, friendly manner has put him next in line for a manager position.
Despite seeming incompatible at work, the two are close friends outside the office. Kanda frequently stays at Ueno’s home, and their constant time together brings them closer than most colleagues.
When Ueno tells Kanda he is gay, unspoken feelings begin to surface. Ueno feels conflicted about Kanda’s physical affection and closeness. Meanwhile, Kanda cannot stop thinking about Ueno’s claim that he is not his type.
The story follows the two salarymen as they try to understand their feelings and recognize the love developing between them.
The manga ran on Renta! from March 2023 through April 2024. Takeshobo collected it in one volume.
