Seventh Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 Film Gets Main Trailer and Visual

Bandai Namco Filmworks unveiled the main trailer and visual for Rainbow-Colored Reincarnation (Nijiiro no Rinne) on Friday. The film opens in Japanese theaters on October 30.

It is the seventh film in Star Blazers: Be Forever Yamato - Rebel 3199 (Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199), the latest Space Battleship Yamato remake project. Character designer Nobuteru Yūki illustrated the main visual.

The anime's theatrical release spans seven films. Crunchyroll streams it as Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199.

The sixth film, Blue Labyrinth (Aoi Meikyū), opened on June 26. Its story sends the Yamato through a space-time node, taking the main characters to Tokyo in 2026, during the present-day Reiwa era.

Earlier films followed this release schedule:

• The fifth film opened in Japan on February 20.
• The fourth, The Aqua Sasha (Mizuiro no Sasha), opened in Japan in October 2025. Its Japanese Blu-ray Disc and DVD releases followed in December 2025.
• The third, Ultramarine Asteroid (Gunjō no Asteroid), opened in Japan in April 2025.
• The second, The Assault of the Burning Sun (Sekijitsu no Shutsugeki), premiered in Japan in November 2024.
• The first, Dark Invasion (Kuro no Shinryaku), opened in July 2024.

The second film earned 64,118,600 yen, approximately US$410,028 at the current conversion, during its first three days. Participating theaters sold a special limited-edition Blu-ray Disc during its theatrical run. Retail Blu-ray Disc and DVD editions shipped in January 2025.

Megumi Han assumed the role of Sasha in the second film. Her mother, Keiko Han, voiced Sasha in the Be Forever Yamato film.

The first film earned 58,863,050 yen, approximately US$376,419 at the current conversion, in its opening three days.

The anime's staff includes:

• Director: Naomichi Yamato, an episode director on From the New World and Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.
• Supervising director, head writer and scriptwriter: Harutoshi Fukui, adding supervising duties to his writing roles from earlier series entries.
• Returning script co-writer: Hideki Oka.
• Returning character designer: Nobuteru Yūki.
• Mechanical designers: Junichirō Tamamori, Mika Akitaka and Yasushi Ishizu.
• CG producer: Hiroyuki Gotō.
• CG director: Shōsuke Uechi.
• Sound director: Tomohiro Yoshida.

As in previous entries, the late producer Yoshinobu Nishizaki receives original-work credit. His son, Shōji Nishizaki, serves as chief production supervisor and copyright chief supervisor.

Returning composer Akira Miyagawa joins Shū Kanematsu, whose credits include My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! and The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses. Akira's late father, original Space Battleship Yamato composer Hiroshi Miyagawa, also receives music credit.

The project follows Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage Part II: Stasha (Uchū Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi - Kōshō -STASHA-), which opened in February 2022.
