The Failure at God School Set for TV Anime Adaptation
Hyuganatsu and Modomu Akagawara launched the manga in Hana to Yume in August 2021.

The Failure at God School manga is getting a television anime. A new official website announced the adaptation on Friday and released a visual.
A new official website announced on Friday that author Hyuganatsu and artist Modomu Akagawara’s The Failure at God School (Kami-sama Gakkō no Ochikobore) will receive a television anime adaptation.
The site released a visual, while Akagawara shared an illustration celebrating the announcement.
Yen Press licenses the manga in English. Its story follows high school student Nagi in a modern society where the government regulates supernatural powers through classifications, specialized schools, and licenses.
Anyone who manifests a miracle qualifies as a himiko, but only fully certified individuals can hold the title of god. Nagi urgently needs one: her grandmother’s death has left the family shrine without its required divinity.
Her brother is a himiko, but his extreme withdrawal from society makes him an unlikely solution. Nagi’s search for a god could also bring her more than she expects.
Hyuganatsu and Akagawara launched the manga in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine in August 2021. Hakusensha released its 15th collected volume on Friday.
A novel adaptation began in January 2022. Star Seas Company released the novels’ fifth volume in Japan on May 27.
Hyuganatsu also created The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto), which began serialization on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” (Let’s Become Novelists) website in October 2011.
Shufunotomo started publishing the light novels in print with illustrations by Touko Shino in August 2014. The series has inspired manga and anime adaptations.
