Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? Anime Releases Teaser Ahead of January 2027 Premiere

The Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? television anime released a teaser on Friday. Its January 2027 broadcast will run in the Super Animeism Turbo block.
The official website for the television anime adaptation of Ryon's Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? (Jirai nandesu ka? Chihara-san) released a teaser promotional video on Friday.
The anime premieres in January 2027 in the “Super Animeism Turbo” block on MBS, TBS, and 26 affiliated channels. Episodes air Thursdays at 00:26, effectively Fridays at 12:26 a.m. Staff previously announced a 2026 broadcast.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga for an English release. Its synopsis follows high school junior Kuroki, who begins a new semester sitting beside Mai Chihara, a girl surrounded by rumors.
Her gothic clothes, jet-black hair, and piercing gaze have earned her a reputation as a “landmine” girl, or jirai-kei. The term describes a hyper-feminine, dark aesthetic often linked to yandere tendencies and unstable personalities.
After accidentally catching Chihara's attention, Kuroki learns she is far less unstable than others suggest. Behind her intimidating presence, he finds a surprisingly sweet, if somewhat strange, girl.
Ryon began publishing the manga on GANMA! in June 2021. In 2024, it received a “Next Impact Comic” award at the second Rakuten Kobo E-book Awards.
