ATASHIn'CHI Next Announces Another Batch of Episodes

Shinei Animation announced at Saturday's ABEMA Anime Matsuri 2026 event that ATASHIn'CHI Next will receive another batch of episodes. The studio also released a teaser.

Taku Kimura (Chainsmoker Cat) will direct the anime, the latest online entry in the ATASHIn'CHI franchise.

Its first five episodes arrived monthly from June through October 2024. The following batch also contained five episodes, released on:

• November 20
• December 20
• January 20
• February 20
• March 20

The anime marks the 30th anniversary of Eiko Kera's original manga. It adapts manga stories that earlier anime productions had not covered.

Shinei Animation and AlphaBoat describe ATASHIn'CHI as following the Tachibana family's daily lives. Its members are:

• Mother, who puts her best effort into everything despite being clumsy.
• Father, a man of few words who insists on his own way.
• Mikan, a romantic high school student.
• Yuzuhiko, who initially seems emotionless but is actually quite naïve.

The manga's anime adaptations include:

• A television series that ran from 2002 to 2009.
• The ATASHIn'CHI film, which opened in 2003.
• A 40-minute 3D ATASHIn'CHI film released in 2010.
• Shin ATASHIn'CHI, a new television series that premiered in October 2015 and ended in April 2016.

Crunchyroll streamed Shin ATASHIn'CHI as it aired in Japan. Since May 2020, the anime's official YouTube channel has streamed both television series with English subtitles.

Kera began the new manga serialization ATASHIn'CHI SUPER in December 2019, seven years after ending the original series. The original concluded in March 2012 after running in the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper's Sunday edition since 1994—a total of 17 years and 10 months.
