Square Enix Manga & Books publishes the manga in English. Its synopsis follows Yuru, a young boy living happily off the land in a secluded mountain village watched over by two stone guardians.
He stays close to his beloved twin sister Asa, his only remaining family. Meanwhile, the village keeps Asa confined in a cage as she performs a mysterious “duty” for it. The premise raises questions about her imprisonment and the secrets beneath Yuru's seemingly peaceful home.
Arakawa, whose works include Fullmetal Alchemist and Silver Spoon, began the manga in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan in December 2021. Square Enix released its 13th collected volume on July 10.
