The staff behind the new Ahare! Meisaku-kun television anime announced Tuesday that new episodes will arrive in January 2027. Earlier episodes will rerun until then.

The latest season of five-minute shorts premiered on July 5. Returning production staff and the studio include:

  • Director Taketo Shinkai
  • Character designer Jun Oson
  • Animation studio Pie in the sky

AnimeLog’s synopsis follows Matsuda Meisaku, an ordinary boy who enrolls at the prestigious Ryugu Elementary School, which has produced many famous characters. Can he graduate as a masterpiece character while surrounded by these strong personalities?

  • Sweetie, who is extremely foolish and hyperactive
  • Musubi, who is angry and goes by “Onigiri”
  • Nokio, a narcissist who describes himself as a robot
  • Bolt, who is clearly faster than a rabbit

The first television anime debuted in April 2016 within NHK Educational TV’s Beat World variety show. It comprised 39 episodes, each five minutes long.

AnimeLog (Anilog) started streaming the series on its global YouTube channel in November 2020.

Season six began in April 2021 and continued through the following March. Crunchyroll streamed it alongside its Japanese broadcast.

In April 2022, the anime’s staff opened a Makuake crowdfunding campaign for another season and reached its target that same day. By its June 2022 close, the campaign had collected 19,938,500 yen, approximately US$145,800. That season debuted in August 2022.

The franchise’s first exhibition took place at Tokyo’s Shibuya PARCO building in November 2022. It featured an exclusive original anime, “Bolt, Said He Would Quit the Club” (“Bolt, Bu Yamerutteyo”).
