My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex to Conclude With Volume 14

The official X/Twitter account for My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex (Mamahaha no Tsurego ga Moto Kano Datta) announced Wednesday that volume 14 will conclude the series. The final volume arrives December 1.

Kyōsuke Kamishiro writes the light novels, which feature illustrations by Takayaki. J-Novel Club licenses the series in English.

The novels received an anime adaptation that debuted on AT-X and Tokyo MX in July 2022. Crunchyroll streamed it as it aired.

J-Novel Club's synopsis follows a boy hoping high school will offer a fresh start after a terrible middle school relationship. Instead, his ex attends the same school and has become his stepsister.

His hoped-for refuge becomes a nightmare: she is at home, at school and even in his class, leaving him nowhere to escape. She also insists she is the older sibling, a claim he rejects because he considers himself the family's older brother.

Now family, the two believe their past love ended when they discovered each other's true personalities and realized they were incompatible. They may act like friendly siblings for their parents, but he insists their relationship will never return to what it was.

The series and its manga adaptation developed as follows:

• Kamishiro started posting the story on Kakuyomu in August 2017.
• Kadokawa began releasing print volumes in December 2018.
• Rei Kusakabe launched the manga adaptation on Kadokawa's ComicWalker website in December 2019. Udon Entertainment licensed it.
• The novels' 13th volume shipped in October 2025.

Takayaki also illustrated Arifureta - From Commonplace to World's Strongest.
