Amata Games announced Thursday that it is developing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies VR, an officially licensed adaptation of CAPCOM’s game. It will launch next year, in 2027.
The game will be available for Meta Quest virtual reality headsets and the newly announced Meta VR Glasses headwear. It will support seven languages:
- English
- French
- German
- Japanese
- Korean
- Traditional Chinese
- Simplified Chinese
Amata Games describes the adaptation as bringing the Ace Attorney series into immersive VR. Players take on the roles of Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice, and Athena Cykes to clear their clients of every charge.
Dual Destinies is the fifth mainline game, with Phoenix returning to legal practice after eight years. Its story opens with a bang inside a heavily damaged courtroom.
Phoenix joins Apollo and Athena in trying to end the “Dark Age of the Law,” when winning takes priority over finding the truth.
The original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies reached platforms on these dates:
- Nintendo 3DS: July 2013 in Japan and October 2013 in the West.
- iOS: August 2014, released by CAPCOM.
- Android: May 2017, released by CAPCOM.
The game also appears in Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, which launched in January 2024 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam and Microsoft Store. The collection includes:
- Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies
- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice
