Sankaku Head announced during a Saturday livestream on Niconico that Umaru-chan 100 will launch on October 1. The new entry in the Himouto! Umaru-chan manga series will appear on Shueisha’s Young Jump+ platform.
The original Himouto! Umaru-chan began in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump in 2013 and ended in 201. It followed an earlier two-chapter version, Himouto! Umaruchan!, published in Miracle Jump in 2012.
Shueisha released the original manga’s 12th and final collected volume in December 2017. Seven Seas publishes the manga in English.
The manga also spawned three spinoffs:
- Akita Imokko! Ebina-chan, which concluded in September 2017.
- Himōto! Umaru-chan S.
- Himōto! Umaru-chan SS, which concluded in February 2017.
Sankaku Head began Himōto! Umaru-chan G in Weekly Young Jump in November 2017, immediately after the main manga concluded. That series finished in April 2018.
The main manga received a 12-episode television anime in July 2015. Crunchyroll streamed episodes as they aired, while Sentai Filmworks acquired the home video license.
The second anime season, Himouto! Umaru-chan R, debuted in Japan in October 2017. Sentai Filmworks licensed the sequel and streamed it in the United States through Amazon’s now-defunct Anime Strike service.
Sankaku Head’s My Darling Devilish Daughter (Boku no Manamusume) manga will conclude with its seventh volume in 2027.
On February 4, the creator announced on his YouTube channel that he would stop working at a weekly serialization pace. He cited declining health as he ages and wanting to devote more attention to his children. He will move to a monthly serialization schedule.
