The staff of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation III announced Sunday that the third season’s second cours will premiere in 2027. The announcement came in a video; a cours spans one quarter of a year.
The season adapts the “Eris Training Arc,” which began in volume 13 of the original novels. Its “Chaos Breaker” arc opened with the eighth episode on August 16.
The anime premiered July 5 on Tokyo MX and BS11. Crunchyroll streamed episodes as they aired and is also streaming an English dub.
The season’s new cast members are:
- Ai Kakuma as Eris Boreas Greyrat
- Haruka Tomatsu as Nina Farion
- Tetsu Inada as Gal Farion
Yuiko Ōhara sings the new opening theme, “Ketsui no Uta” (Song of Resolve). Mika Nakashima performs the ending theme, “Inori, Owareba” (If the Prayers Are Over).
Shinoda, guitarist and vocalist for rock band Hitorie, wrote the ending song’s lyrics and music. Hitorie previously performed “On The Frontline,” the second opening theme for season two.
The first anime adaptation’s opening part premiered in January 2021. Its second part arrived in October 2021 after being delayed from July. Funimation streamed that season.
Crunchyroll and Hulu now stream the anime, including “Eris the Goblin Slayer,” an unaired side-story original video anime (OVA) episode.
Season two ran for two cours, or two quarters of a year. Its first half premiered on Tokyo MX in July 2023 before reaching other networks. The second half debuted in April 2024, and Crunchyroll streamed the season as it aired.
The free-to-play game Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation: Chronicle of Echoes (Mushoku Tensei - Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu: Chronicle of Echoes) launched July 27. It is described as a serious alternate-world role-playing game with 3D battles.
Gree Entertainment handles the game’s planning and release. Asobimo develops and maintains it.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed Rifujin na Magonote’s original main light novel series and Yuka Fujikawa’s manga adaptation. It also licensed Shōko Iwami’s spinoff manga Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious (Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Datte Honki desu).
Seven Seas characterizes the original novels as an epic, influential fantasy. The story follows an unemployed, 34-year-old recluse whose family throws him out. While wandering the streets and believing he has reached his lowest point, he is killed by a speeding truck.
He awakens as the infant Rudeus Greyrat in a world of swords and magic, retaining memories of his previous life. Determined to avoid his old mistakes, he sets out to make the most of his second life and its adventures.
Rifujin na Magonote serialized the story on Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Become Novelists) from 2012 to 2015. Kadokawa’s MF Books imprint began publishing print editions in 2014. Volume 26 shipped in November 2022.
