Kuri Hime Ayakashi Yobanashi Manga to Conclude October 28
Anko Chōchin's adaptation of Hyuganatsu's novels has run in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum since December 2024.

Anko Chōchin's Kuri Hime Ayakashi Yobanashi manga will end in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum's next issue on October 28, the magazine announced Monday.
The November issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum announced Monday that Anko Chōchin's Kuri Hime Ayakashi Yobanashi manga will end on October 28. The final installment will appear in the magazine's next issue.
Chōchin began adapting Hyuganatsu's novel series of the same name in December 2024. Ichijinsha released the manga's first collected volume in July 2025 and its second on April 30.
The story follows Kinuko, a part-time college lecturer who teaches weaving and Japanese studies. She lives in a weaver's hut on the grounds of Tamamayu Shrine.
Despite her unusual accommodations, Kinuko receives good care. A wealthy family maintains the shrine, while young children named Shiro and Kuro regularly bring her good food. One day, she starts to suspect that something supernatural shares her surroundings.
Hyuganatsu originally posted the story on Shōsetsuka ni Narō under the title Otsukaresan Desu, Gokurō Sama. The author later removed it after MyNavi Publishing released the first print edition in November 2016, with illustrations by Munashitsu.
With the publisher's agreement, Hyūga restored the original story to Shōsetsuka ni Narō in November 2017. A new volume followed in May 2018.
Hyuganatsu's other works include:
- The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto), which began serialization on Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let's Become Novelists) in October 2011. Shufunotomo began publishing print volumes with Touko Shino's illustrations in August 2014. The novels inspired manga and anime adaptations; the anime's third season debuts October 2.
- The Failure at God School (Kami-sama Gakkō no Ochikobore), a manga by Hyuganatsu and artist Modomu Akagawara, which is also receiving a television anime adaptation.
