Its synopsis follows Rio, a hard-hearted orphan living in the slums. At seven, he discovers he is the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a tragic past.

While processing that revelation, Rio discovers he has exceptionally powerful magic. He uses it to solve a young girl’s kidnapping. In recognition of his deed, he gains admission to a prestigious academy for noble children.

Kitayama started serializing the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (“Let’s Become Novelists”) website in February 2014. Hobby Japan began publishing print novels illustrated by Riv in 2015. Minaduki launched the manga adaptation in 2017.
